Come Rain or Come Shine

by johnny mercer and harold arlen

I'm gonna love you like nobody's loved you,
Come rain or come shine.
High as a mountain and deep as a river,
Come rain or come shine.
Well I guess when you met me
That it was just one of those things,
But don't you ever bet me,
'Cause I'm gonna be true if you let me.
You're gonna love me like nobody's loved me,
Come rain or come shine.
Happy together, unhappy together,
Won't that be fine?
Day may be cloudy or sunny,
We're either in or we're out of the money.
I'm with you always.
I'm with you rain or shine.
Repeat Third Verse
Repeat Fourth Verse
I'm with you always.
I'm with you rain or shine.

A song for these rainy days. After an eternal summer, rain has finally come to the sunny city of Cali and time seems to move again. I love the sun, but some rain is always nice and refreshing, that is, when it comes in limited amounts. Lately, it's rained so much that I've had to seriously concider buying a new umbrella. It has rained almost every night the last couple of months, but, luckily, in the mornings, the days are fresh and little by little the sun comes shining again. Come rain or come shine.

Overfloodings and Boat to Work

Sad but true for so many people already. The floodings have reached new hights never before witnessed in Colombia. The President Juan Manuel Santos just stated that over 2 million people have been affected by damages. In Cali, so far having escaped major problems, is facing a great political decision to direct a main river to damage great areas of sugar plants or risk having a major residential area damaged. The costs of the former would of course be much more manageble, but to consciously take a decision that would harm so many workers is understandably not easy.

The Amazonas, Safest River in Colombia?

My vacation of the year is approaching. Amazingly enough, I'll be able to go to the Amazonas to spend Christmas and New Year's with my better half's family. Somewhat of a major dream that I haven't been able to grasp fully yet. Anyway, I was told the river there is much less exposed to the risk of overflooding than most rivers in Colombia at the time, so my spontaneous conclusion is that it's probably the safest river in Colombia right now, despite the crocodiles and the anacondas.
