Globalization is not only measured by the scope of negotiations among domestic and foreign companies. Nowadays, the way companies interact, their management styles, their timely and clear communication as well as their organizational culture represent an essential foundation for the success of cross cultural relations, which in turn is reflected in profits for those involved. 

To address this global trend, English Solutions L.A. has decided to carry out Educational Purpose Seminars in English to provide professionals, business people and others, with the opportunity to gain confidence within international business environments.

SEMINAR OBJECTIVE

Live the experience of an educational purpose seminar in English with an international conference facilitator in an interesting comparison frame environment and seize the opportunity to gain confidence when participating in international conferences.

METHODOLOGY

The conference speaker/facilitator will encourage the participants to participate actively with the freedom to provide with input at any time. As the facilitator presents the proposed topics, an English Solutions L.A. advisor will collect data fro the participants related to English language gaps identified. Such data will be disclosed, corrected and explained in an anonymous fashion.

1. Cross Cultural Understanding and Communication

OBJECTIVE: Gain understanding and appreciation of cultural differences for an insight in how to communicate across cultures.

Differences in principles and underlying assumptions between cultures make us understand commitments, responsibilities and involvement in different ways. If we are to avoid the pitfalls of miscommunication it is necessary to have cross-cultural flexibility and adaptability to respond to the actually different cultural conditions that prevail: expectations on behavior and manners of conversations, courtesy and formality, gestures and body language, emotions and attitudes before harsh situations etc.

2. Effective Leadership

OBJECTIVE:  Understand the broad role of an effective leader in a modern and dynamic environment.

How does one become an effective and skillful leader? Is a genuine leader born or made? Can anyone be a leader? Everyone tends to have a natural leadership style but this can be developed to include different styles that are needed in different situations. Leaders must be flexible enough to adapt their style to the situation they are in and to the different individuals they are leading.

3. International Teamwork and Project Management

OBJECTIVE: See the advantages of working in international teams and projects and how to handle the dynamics constructively.

How does one create a strong and well-performing team? How does one allocate roles within the team, making sure different personality types work together? What does it take to apply the knowledge, skills, tools and techniques needed to a broad range of activities in order to meet the requirements of a project? How does one initiate, plan, execute, control and close a project successfully? How does one maintain the project focus, include the right people and communicate effectively within the project group? What rules, roles and responsibilities are needed for a project to succeed?

4. International Business Strategy

OBJECTIVE: Acknowledge the complexity of going abroad and identify key aspects required for success.

International Business Strategy draws together and applies ideas from many of the disciplines and fields of study which contribute to a broad understanding of business. In cases such as foreign entry or expatriate assignments, cultural barriers can be highly challenging. Different international environments and governmental regulations further complicate corporate activity abroad. International strategies require broad understanding of different business approaches to overcome difficulties and enable success.
